Chimney Sweeping

​Chimneys need to allow free passage of dangerous combustion gasses. Regular cleaning removes soot and helps prevent dangerous chimney fires. Cleaning improves the efficiency of some appliances, saving you money on fuel. Creosote, cobwebs, nest material etc. will also be removed.

​​Many household insurance providers now also insist on a Certificate of Chimney Sweeping.
​Every appliance swept is to the approved industry standard code of practice. We use a combination of traditional rods and brushes, modern state of the art rotary power sweeping equipment and a high powered industrial vacuum.

​A smoke evacuation test will be performed after every sweep to ensure your chimney is operating correctly and a certificate will be issued to you. This certificate states your chimney flue has been swept in accordance with the National Industry Standard and is recognised by all leading household  insurance companies.

The frequency will depend on a number of factors including: Type of fuel, appliance used, frequency and duration of use, moisture content of wood fuel, type of chimney.

Smokeless fuel: At least once a year
Wood: Quarterly when in use
Bituminous coal: Quarterly when in use
Oil: Once a year
Gas: Once a year
